Astronomy Software and Star Maps

This photograph of the Earth's moon was taken at Eckerd College through a 4-inch reflecting telescope in November, 2005. Both volcanic flood plains (left) and highland craters (right) are easily seen.

I've been using astronomy software for years, and I'm still not convinced that there is one package that will do it all. However, there are several pieces of software that are quite good. I'll add some links here and, if available, provide copies. Ask if you have questions.

Stellarium is here for Windows XP. Download this file (9.4 Megabytes) and install it. This program is freeware.
