Dr. Guida

Dr. Wayne C. Guida, Professor of Biochemistry at Eckerd College, is member of a team that recently was awarded a Program Project Grant by the National Cancer Institute. Using structure-based drug design techniques, the team hopes to design, synthesize and test molecules that will become potent anti-cancer drugs with minimal toxicity. The project involves five institutions: Cornell University, Eckerd College, The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center at Penn State University, The H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute at the University of South Florida, and Southern Research Institute.

In addition to being an Eckerd professor, Dr. Guida is a member of the Drug Discovery Program at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute and a member of the Voluntary Faculty in the Department of Interdisciplinary Oncology, University of South Florida College of Medicine.
