Born in the United States, but reared and educated mainly in Europe, Dr. Weinlich holds a D. Phil. in Classical Philology from the Johann-Wolfgang Goethe Universität in Frankfurt / Main. Her current research focuses on Latin poetry, especially Roman love elegy, as well as on Reception Studies and interdisciplinary approaches to the Classics. Dr. Weinlich's recent articles have dealt with the love elegies of Ovid and Propertius, Narrative Theory, and Classical myth in contemporary film. She is currently completing a book on Propertius. Besides teaching Greek and Latin at all levels, Dr. Weinlich enjoys teaching Roman history and culture as well as interdisciplinary courses. She also holds a degree in music.

Life After Eckerd

Classics graduates often pursue, but are not limited to, careers in business, education, government, and the non-profit sector. The classics major is also excellent preparation for graduate school.
