Karen Pitcher teaches classes in the areas of media and communication theory. Her research specialties fall at the intersections of media and society, with particular interests in mobile technologies and critical feminist perspectives on popular culture. When not teaching or researching, Karen can usually be found at the beach (as Midwesterner, she always appreciates it!), running, traveling, cheering on the Hawkeyes, going to movies/theater, and watching bad TV.

Life After Eckerd

Students who graduate from Eckerd College with a degree in Communication will have the skills essential for graduate study, as well as careers in marketing, public relations, law, teaching, media, entertainment, human resources, and non-governmental organizations, among others.
