Karen Pitcher teaches classes in the areas of media and communication theory. Her research specialties fall at the intersections of media and society, with particular interests in mobile technologies and critical feminist perspectives on popular culture. When not teaching or researching, Karen can usually be found at the beach (as Midwesterner, she always appreciates it!), running, traveling, cheering on the Hawkeyes, going to movies/theater, and watching bad TV.
