A thesis committee is usually selected in the fall semester of the senior year, or one semester prior to graduation. The committee includes two full time creative writing faculty and a third member from any other discipline. Directed by the student's faculty advisor, the thesis experience is the capstone of the senior year.

The thesis must be 80% new work.

Length requirements are:

Fiction and Non-fiction Prose     50 pages
Poetry                                              30 pages
Drama                                             80 pages
Screenplay                                   120 pages
