Dr. Brunello's research and teaching is specifically related to Western and Eastern Europe, and developing nations. He emphasizes cross-national and systems analysis in relationship to revolutionary and liberationist events; authoritarian and communist political systems, party systems, political ideologies, and political theory. Recent published research includes a study of judicial politics in India and Germany - and political theory on Lenin and Gramsci. He has received the John M. Bevan Teaching Excellence and Campus Leadership Award.
