Maria Stadter Fox
Adjunct Professor of Literature
Maria Stadter Fox is an alumna of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (B.A. Russian and French) and earned her doctorate in Comparative Literature from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She taught comparative literature, drama, and writing at Georgia Southern University, then relocated to Florida. Her interests include modernism, drama and theater, and gender studies. Her most recent publication is the translation, with Zara Martirosova Torlone of Tsvetaeva’s plays Ariadne and Phaedra (Soul and Passion: Marina Tsvetaeva’s Classical Plays, 2012). She has given papers and written about, among other topics, H.D.’s Euripidean works, Tsvetaeva’s theater, Duras’s India Song, and Djuna Barnes’s drama, and is the founding editor (2007-2011) of the online newsletter, HD’s Web (http://www.imagists.org/hd/hdsweb/index.html).
