Scott Ward, Professor of Literature and Creative Writing, M.A.,
University of South Carolina, is a poet whose first volume,
Crucial Beauty, won the 1990 Loiderman Poetry Prize. He is
also the winner of the 1987 Hackney Poetry Award and the 1986
American Poets Prize. His second book is Portraits, 1993.
His poetry has appeared in The Hiram Poetry Review,
Shenandoah, Sou'wester, Birmingham Poetry
Review and The Chattahoochee Review. He has served as
poetry editor of Southern Humanities Review and is
currently an assistant editor for Shenandoah. Professor
Ward's other interests are translating Latin texts, the history of
the Bible, and aviation.
