After serving our Country in the United States Navy, Alan Gavel commenced his educational journey at Georgia College & State University by earning his Bachelor’s degree with honors in Accounting. He continued on to earn his Masters in Business Administration degree at the revered Vanderbilt University followed by his Juris Doctorate degree from Mercer University – Walter F. George School of Law in his hometown of Macon, GA.
Alan began teaching graduate and undergraduate classes at Georgia College and Macon State College in the University System of Georgia offering courses in Business Law, Economics, and Business Communications.
Alan joined Eckerd College in 2000 as an Adjunct Instructor teaching Business Law in the both Residential and PEL Program.
With a passion for appreciating law and ensuring top quality representation, Alan also operates an active law practice. His firm primarily represents victims of investment fraud in various tax matters before the IRS. He effectively practices in IRS representation, tax audits/examinations, tax preparation, and Offers in Compromise.
Alan is a member of the Georgia Bar Association and the American Bar Association as well as the U.S. Tax Court. Furthermore, as a Vietnam veteran, Alan offers free tax preparation to all Veterans at the Veteran's Administration hospital in Tampa.
