Ron joined Eckerd College as an Accounting Instructor in 1993 and has continuously taught in both the resident and PEL programs. He teaches Financial and Managerial Accounting, as well as providing sponsorships for independent study in Business Startups. Because of his extensive business and professional background, he brings real world experiences to the classroom.
Ron has over 40 years hands-on experience in various accounting, financial and managerial positions with for profit, non-profit and governmental organizations such as Standard Brands, AON, TIAA-CREF and the IRS. In addition, he has served as a consultant to Uniroyal, National Distillers, AON, Filter Queen, West Bend and dozens of small businesses, where he assisted them in improving revenues and profits.
Ron holds an Enrolled Agent designation, which enables him to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service, and he maintains a tax practice with a select group of clients.
Ron has lectured professionally on the following topics: Managing Time for Profit, Techniques of Work Management, Budgeting, Cost Control, and Starting Your First Small Business.
Ron has served as an officer and board member on community and professional associations, including The Society for Information Management, Pinellas Emergency Mental Health Services, Gateway Area Commerce Association, Administrative Management Society, the Planning Forum and the Oasis School.
At Eckerd College, Ron has served as the Faculty Athletic Representative to the NCAA and faculty advisor to the Management Club and the Society for the Advancement of Management Club.
