Dr. George (Bud) Wynn brings more than 30 years of corporate management, executive leadership, executive coaching, experience-based education, human resource management, and training and development experience to Eckerd College. Before joining the management faculty, he was a professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Business and the University of Tampa. While at Loyola, he provided faculty leadership for the national award-winning Student Human Resource Management Association. Bud has been a corporate officer for a division of Equifax, Inc. a worldwide leader in financial information processing and dissemination. While there, he developed the first “divisional university” and distance-learning program. His background also includes positions as a Senior Vice President for Human Resources for a major national multi-hospital system and as the head of Organization Development and Training at R. G. Barry Corporation. R. G. Barry was a very early U.S. leader in applying team-based management, a leader in the “Human Resource Accounting” movement and using Management by Objectives (MBO) to manufacturing processes. Dr. Wynn holds certifications in all Class A, B and C psychological assessment instruments (e.g., Emotional Quotient Inventory, MBTI, MMPI, FIRO-B, FIRO-F, 16PF, etc.) He is also a certified Master Teacher, Georgia State University, and regularly authors management instructional materials for Pearson Education, Prentice-Hall textbook publishers in NJ. His philosophy of learning is best captured by a quote from Plutarch, "The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled."
