Facilities at Ransom Arts

Our facilities include a large drawing and painting studio, a small darkroom (4 enlargers, for black & white), a printmaking studio (for intaglio, relief, and monotype), a ceramics lab (see the ceramics page), and a multi-media lab with 16 stations for video, digital photography, graphic design and sound design. We also have semi-private studio spaces accommodating up to 20 residential students working in a variety of media (upperclass students have priority). With the exception of the multi-media lab, all studio facilities are accessible to qualified students 24 x 7. Equipment is also available for working in welded sculpture.

Elliott Gallery at Ransom Arts serves as a showcase for our spring senior thesis exhibitions and the Sophomore Show, as well as featuring exhibitions by local, regional, faculty and alumni/ae artists. The Cobb Gallery is centrally located on campus, and serves as our venue for larger exhibitions. Both galleries are open throughout the academic year; regular hours are Monday through Friday, 10:30 to 4:30. See the events page for our exhibition schedule.
