International Scholars Award
The International Scholars Award recognizes outstanding international students who plan to continue their education at Eckerd College. Each year, Eckerd will award a limited number of scholarships of up to $5,000 to qualified admitted students who show academic promise, a unique perspective and the potential to be a leader in the 21st century. This scholarship program is open only to admitted students who do not hold US citizenship. (For information on other financial assistance available for International Students click here.)
To apply for the International Scholars Award, students must select one of the following essay topics and prepare an essay of up to, but no more than, 1000 words. All submissions must be received by April 1 to be considered for this award. Applicants will be notified by April 15 about selection for the Award.
Essay Topics (Please choose one)
- Identify an issue of national or international importance to you and discuss how your US education will prepare you to address that issue.
- Eckerd values the diversity of perspectives and opinions in the classroom. With your background and experiences, how will you contribute to a discussion on either A) the current global environmental crisis or B) increased globalization in industry and economics?
