Tell us a little about yourself. What makes you a unique Eckerd student?
I love to be me! Conceited sounding…I know, but I truly love to make my own path. I am one of those people that always ask questions, say what I am thinking, and enjoy having as much fun as possible. I am very active both academically and socially. I am member of a number of clubs on campus as well as work off campus. Multitasking is how I survive. One of my slogans is ask and you shall know.
Why did you decide to attend EC?
I fell in love with the campus as soon as I was done taking the tour. Eckerd has that aura of being home for me. It is just laidback enough that I don't feel confined, but at that same time strict enough so that I still stay focused in my studies. The staff and faculty here are also amazing.
Eckerd is recognized as a college That Changes Lives (book by Loren Pope). How has EC changed your life?
Eckerd has helped me grow and blossom as a person. I have learned to manage the good and bad and still excel in life. Eckerd is all about unique experiences.
What are some traits or characteristics you find in most Eckerd students?
Students are chill and we speak our minds. We are all active in some aspect of life beyond academics. We are all doing something to contribute to the community in some form.
How would you describe the academic environment at Eckerd?
Though the school is laidback there is a drive to succeed. The professors and classmates are willing to help if need be.
Do you have a "that's so Eckerd" moment? What is it?
I have tons of "only at Eckerd" stories. The one that always stands out is the fact that students walk around barefoot all the time here.
What is your favorite place on campus?
The area near the Alumni Grove. It is mostly quiet and serene. It is a nice escape, but still on campus. The spot is very scenic and great for when you need to clear your head.
