Scheduling a Group Visit

Eckerd College welcomes groups for a walking tour of campus. Tours are a great way to expose your students to our unique academic environment, and give them the opportunity to decide if Eckerd is the right fit for them. Please schedule your visit one month in advance so we can make proper preparations for your visit.

Eckerd prides itself on its small student body; however, this means we do have difficulty facilitating large groups. In order to provide the best experience possible for your students, we must limit the number of students for a group visit to 30. Additionally, we expect that you will have at least one chaperone for every 10 students.

We ask that students be high school age only. If you are a middle school program coordinator, Eckerd will work with you to provide other opportunities for your students. Please contact the Office of Admission at 727-864-8331 for more information about non-high school groups.

What can you do on Campus?

The group tour lasts approximately an hour and includes an academic building, a residence hall, the cafeteria and the library, among many other elements of the Eckerd campus.

We are also happy to host an information session with your group at the conclusion of the tour. The information session typically will include specifics about the Eckerd experience, how to apply to Eckerd, and information on scholarships and financial aid. We are happy to tailor our information session to your needs.

We also invite you to eat on campus. Have students bring a packed lunch and eat outdoors at any one of our picturesque spots, or enjoy the many options our cafeteria has to offer. Our cafeteria is buffet style and lunch is $7 a person.

When to Visit

For group tours, we are able to accommodate groups on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday at 12 noon E.S.T. due to our current students' academic commitments. We also limit the number of group tours each semester to five, so be sure to schedule early. We are not able to accommodate group visits in January due to our 4-1-4 academic calendar.

Getting to Campus

Please visit our Directions & Map page for driving directions to campus. If you are bringing a bus, please let us know so we can inform security and arrange sufficient parking on campus. Stop at our front gate and they will direct you to the Admission Office.
