The mission of the Eckerd College Archives is to collect, identify, preserve, and organize items - written, visual, and electronic - related to the history of Florida Presbyterian College/Eckerd College; and, by making these resources available, to educate and inform current and future members of the college community concerning the origins, development, programs, and goals of the College.
Use of the Archives
The Archives collection is considered a "closed stacks" area. Use of the collection will require setting up an appointment with the college's Archivist.
Most items in the collection have no access restrictions. These items may not be checked out, but they may be photocopied or scanned to a patron's e-mail account.
The Archives website contains and maintains a collection of electronic or digital materials for the convenience of the college community. Included are minutes of Faculty Committee meetings, archives of Faculty Newsletters and reports on Board of Trustees meetings. These items are accessible only to college connected personnel and are available through the “Secure Home” link on this page’s sidebar.
For public use, we have a digital collection containing electronic copies of:
- Eckerd College course catalogs from 1959-2008
- Eckerd College yearbooks from 1964-2002
- Historical Eckerd college newspapers from 1960-2009
- College newspaper ,The Current, from 2009-present
