Jane Baldwin, First Vice President SunTrust Bank presents a $10,000 check to Academy  of Senior Professionals (ASPEC), from SunTrust Bank.

This represents the 10^th consecutive year SunTrust Bank has contributed to the Academy. Thank you SunTrust Bank for your support!

The SunTrust grant supports student learning through involvement in community projects and a series of public forums, featured on our events page.

Faculty, student groups and Academy members develop proposals to fund a wide spectrum of projects. The projects are wide ranging, from a 'Gender Equality' study, to organizing events to fund buying a cow for an African village!

Our first project in 2011 is an example of how an idea can become a reality!

Faculty member Dr. Teresa Restom Gaskill proposed the creation of a "Plant Trail" walking tour so visitors to Eckerd could enjoy walking the campus and appreciating the wide variety of plant life that grows at Eckerd. The guide would also assist in educating school children about our Florida natural environment.

In 2010 a pamphlet was produced with the support of the SunTrust grant. In 2011 Academy members have worked with Dr. Restom Gaskill to turn the "Plant Trail" into an interactive catalog that brings the plants to life online! View the plant trail catalog online.
