Welcome from ASPEC's Leadership
John Reppert, President
Welcome to the website of the Academy of Senior Professionals at Eckerd College, often referred to as ASPEC. Our location on the campus of Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL, provides us an opportunity to continue our history of service to the college and the community.
I am John Reppert and am proud to serve as the President of ASPEC. We are an international community of some 300 retired or soon-to-be-retired professionals from a wide range of disciplines committed to continuing our lifetimes of learning and leading.
Now more than three decades after our founding, we remain committed to enhancing our members lives through hosting up to 40 discussion groups weekly, from which members can choose to participate in those of particular interest to them. On campus we have a broad range of engagement opportunities from working alongside a professor in the classroom to work with the student government and organizations. Beyond Eckerd, we host mentoring programs for younger students and engage in many community activities.
Social and cultural activities organized by ASPEC now include some 60 events annually, all of which are open by choice to our membership. Of course, the friendships developed among the diverse membership add much to the quality of life here in our ASPEC family.
We encourage you to learn more about ASPEC and consider membership. To find out about us, please call us at 727-864-8834 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org

Ken Wolfe, Director
I am the Director of the Academy of Senior Professionals at Eckerd College, which we call ASPEC.
We are a well-established lifelong learning community with almost 300 members and associates and a successful 30 year history.
Our core mission is to provide lifelong learning to our members. Our lifelong learning is built on interest group discussions, and we have 25-40 interest group meetings every week. These are normally led by members who have an avid interest in the group’s subject matter. Occasionally we bring in outside speakers who contribute unique intelligence to a subject.
We also work as volunteers on the Eckerd College campus and in the local community. On the campus we serve as discussant colleagues, working with professors in selected classes where our perspectives enhance the students’ learning experience. In the community we provide counsel and support to a variety of educational and charitable institutions.
