Enrollment Deposit - Required deposit for all new students after acceptance, to reserve the student's place in class and dormitory if living on campus. This payment will be applied against the comprehensive charges.
Application Fee - Payment submitted with application for admissions to Eckerd College.
Audit Fee - The fee to "sit in" on a course; student is not tested and receives no credit for course.
Credit by Examination - A fee for examination to determine proficiency in a particular subject to receive course credit.
Graduation Fee - Processing fee for graduation. (Does not cover academic attire).
Health Insurance - Accident Insurance (Plan I) is provided by the College and covers the student for the academic year (9 months) at no charge. All full-time students are automatically enrolled in the Major Medical (Plan II), expanding the Accident Insurance to cover sickness as well as accidents for a full 12 months. Participation in the plan is automatic unless a signed waiver card is returned to the Bursar's Office.
Lab Fee - A fee assessed to all students participating in a scientific workshop or other course where additional time and/or materials and supplies may be required.
Late Payment Fee – A charge assessed for payments received after the scheduled due dates. In addition, a monthly finance charge, at the rate of 4% above prime will be assessed on all outstanding balances.
Lost Key Charge - Assessed for replacement of lost dormitory room key.
Music Fee - Charge for music instruction on a one hour or one-half hour per week basis.
Orientation Fee - Partially covers additional cost of special orientation activities. This fee is assessed to all new students only.
Overload Fee - Fee for students enrolling in more than ten courses per academic year.
Replacement ID/Meal Card - Charge for replacement of Eckerd ID/Meal card.
Returned Check Fee - A fee assessed for each check returned by the bank for nonpayment.
Transcript Fee - Required for each transcript requested. For additional cost information (i.e. special handling) please visit the Registrar's website.
