Mission Statement
The mission of the Office of Career Services is to provide a comprehensive program of career related resources designed to help Eckerd students and alumni apply their liberal arts education into meaningful employment. The exploration of personal and professional life goals is an ongoing process that should commence prior to a student's arrival on campus and continue throughout the duration of his or her academic program.
Placement assistance and resources are central to the role of Career Services. Numerous companies and organizations furnish Career Services with company information. Students are offered a variety of resources to assist them in the exploratory process. Our objective is to help students make wise decisions about their postgraduate plans.
The Career Services staff takes pride in providing individualized assistance to Eckerd College students and alumni. Whether you are a first-year student searching for a campus work-study position or an experienced worker at mid-career, our goal is to help you meet yours.

One year later: Survey shows recent Eckerd graduates to be well equipped for professional world
What is the value of an education? How is this value measured? Eckerd College departments of Career Services and Institutional Research jointly produced a survey that measures the extent to which the Eckerd experience prepares students for professional life after Eckerd.
- 98% of recent graduates are in graduate school, working, or taking a voluntary gap year off a year after graduation
- 80% of recent graduates that are employed stated that their position was somewhat or very related to their career goals.
- 30% of graduates are pursuing advanced study in graduate school
