Class of 1968 Gift
In honor of the 50th Anniversary of the College's founding as Florida Presbyterian College, members of the Class of 1968, led by Sandy Ripberger '68 of Bradenton, Florida, and Charlie Stripling '68 of Camilla, Georgia, raised nearly $500,000. The first significant class gift in the College's history, the Class of 1968 gift established an endowment in support of the academic program. Of the 213 living members of the class, 93 members, or 43.7 percent, contributed to the class gift. The Class of 1968 gift made it possible for students in Western Heritage in a Global Context to hear a special presentation by Dr. Ray Arsenault, the John Hope Franklin Professor of Southern History at University of South Florida.
Members of the Class of 1968 who attended Alumni Weekend 2008 pose with a presentation check of $483,380, their gift to Eckerd College.
