Would the Class of 2008 please rise!

President Eeastman, Dean of Students Annarelli, Dean of Faculty Chapin, it is an honor and a privilege to present to you the Class of 2008!

The Class of 2008 is the largest freshman class in the history of Eckerd College. They have come from 39 states and 14 countries.

The top five states represented in the class are:

1. Florida
2. Massachusettes
3. Tie New York
3. Tie Pennsylvania
4. Connecticut
5. Maryland

The most popular majors are:

1. Marine Science
2. Undecided
3. Biology
4. Management
5. Psychology

This is the first class to participate in Eckerd's online community, tritonconnect.com. 323 of them posted nearly 8,000 messages during the last few months, therefore, creating friendships with each other, prior to their arrival on campus, which will surely last a lifetime.

It is with great pride, that I present the Class of 2008!
