Welcome to the Computer Policy Group

Computer Policy Group Charge

The membership of the Computer Policy Committee is as follows: the Director of Information Technology Services, the Vice President of Finance, the Director of Instructional Technology, two faculty members serving two-year staggered terms who may succeed themselves, and one student. The faculty and student members will be chosen from among those who are both significant users of the computer facilities and knowledgeable of the campus-wide needs for computer services. The committee shall develop and annually review policies that will

  1. Establish standards for access to and protection of sensitive data

  2. Guide the development and equitable provision of instructional technology

  3. Establish guidelines for strategic computing investments, including issues of
    supportability and the value of Open Standards and open-source software

  4. Establish standards and requirements for Staff and Faculty technical competency

  5. Recommend the technology for Staff, Faculty and Students to support the instructional program and administrative initiatives
