2014 Awards

We are very excited to announce the winners of the 2014 Visions of Nature/Voices of Nature Awards. We had an exciting festival, with packed theaters, and appreciative audiences.

Our guest speakers informed and entertained us, and their films exposed us to new ways of thinking about our connections with the natural world.

Our awards this year recognize films that were able to educate at the same time as they entertained and surprised audiences, provoking strong reactions and insightful questions.

Audience Choice Award

Audience Choice Award

The Audience Choice Award goes to an overwhelming favorite, a film that examined something that affects all of us: the nature of our food. There is no deeper or more direct connection to the environment than the one we establish by bringing food into our bodies, and Jeremy Seifert's film GMO OMG offers both a passionate and informative overview of some of the questions we all need to consider about how we grow food now.

Special Jury Prize

Gringo Trails

Special Jury Award

The Special Jury Prize goes to Gringo Trails, a film that was both admired by our audiences and was deemed by our special jury to fit precisely the mandate of our festival, whose objective is to show compelling and important films from around the world that raise awareness and promote discussion of matters related to nature, place and the environment.
