Faculty Development Funds are granted for travel to professional meetings, research costs, and projects designed to improve teaching and advising effectiveness.  In most cases, individual awards for the academic year will not exceed $2,000.

Some funds will be set aside as a reserve to use in aiding faculty development opportunities that may not fit normal guidelines.  In allocating these funds, special consideration will be given to persons who have not recently received funds, and for proposals that involve more than one faculty member and/or offer direct benefit to students.

Every proposal should include an explanation of the relationship of the projected activity to the faculty member’s professional development goals and an estimate of the costs involved.   Faculty development funds may not be used to purchase equipment.

Availability of Faculty Development funds is based on a fiscal budget year from July 1^st to June 30^th

To apply for these funds, complete and submit the online application.  The request will be reviewed within a week and an email will sent to the requestor confirming the award amount. 

Within 30 days of completion of the professional development event, submit your expense reimbursement request in hard copy and upload a short report here describing the outcomes to Dean of Faculty’s office.  Please be advised that you must submit a report about the supported activity, in order to be considered for future awards.
