Use of Facilities

All employees of Eckerd College and their immediate families and/or guests are entitled to the use of the College facilities during the usual hours, at their own risk, only if an employee has completed an appropriate indemnification/general release form. This use must not conflict with other scheduled program use. This includes facilities such as library, waterfront facilities, gymnasium, swimming pool, tennis courts, and recreation room.

Personnel are not permitted the use of Eckerd College facilities or equipment for personal gain. College equipment may not be removed from the College campus except for use in a College-sponsored activity.

The instructional and service facilities of the College may be used by responsible community organizations if there is no conflict with the goals and objectives of the College and if the purposes for which the facilities are used are consistent with the program of the College. Insurance requirements, charges to cover maintenance, security, and utilities are assessed for the use of facilities by off-campus groups on a schedule determined by the Special Programs Office. Special Programs Office has the responsibility for arranging the use of campus facilities, both indoor and outdoor, for off-campus groups. A request from an off-campus group for use of the College’s facilities must be forwarded to the Special Programs Office. In most cases, these groups pay a fee to the College, and the Special Programs Office is responsible for negotiating fees and writing contracts.
