Employment of Relatives

Relatives of employees are permitted to work in the same academic area or administrative unit, provided that no direct reporting or supervisory relationship exists, and provided that the relative will not be involved in making recommendations or decisions affecting the appointment, retention, tenure, work assignments, promotion or salary of the other related employee.

Definitions

Relative - Employee’s spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, grandchild, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, first cousin, domestic partner, or corresponding in-law or step-relation.

Domestic Partner- An individual who shares the same regular and permanent residence in a committed personal relationship.
