From the Editor
We are pleased to introduce you to our new, green Passport, announcing winter term and semester offerings for the 2012-13 academic year. This edition of the Passport joins a host of other College publications which are available to our constituencies – students, parents and friends of the College – electronically.
Also available in this electronic edition are applications for Winter Term Abroad 2013 and the application for Travel Grants for Winter Term 2013. Each of these applications can be completed on line, printed and turned into the International Education Office. All travel grant awards, acceptance notifications, and orientation materials for winter term programs will be sent electronically to students.
Along with information regarding Spring Semester 2013 at our study centers, you will also find helpful information regarding passport requirements, participation in the Eckerd College Carbon Offset Fund, and on the annual the winter term photo contest. Please take a moment to read this valuable information.
Finally, we are pleased to announce an exciting array of winter term offerings, including the College's inaugural winter term to Cuba, in which students, led by Professor Yanira Angulo-Cano, will discover this beautiful country and its rich culture. Also new to our offerings for winter term is travel to Costa Rica with Doug McMahon where students will learn about a more sustainable way of life through permaculture based design and land use.
