Google Apps Transition Help
Google has informed us that they are pushing some big changes to our Apps for Education domain. This brings with it some exciting new features. It also of course will change a few things we're comfortable with. Use this page as a resource before and after your account is transitioned.
Frequently Asked Questions About the "migration:"
- Where did my settings link go?
- The settings link is now an icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
- The settings link is now an icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Why do I have a "Name conflict?"
- Google says "A conflicting account exists if a user created a personal Google Account with the same email address username as their organization-managed Google Apps account. Conflicting accounts most commonly occur if your users were logging into Picasa Web Albums, Blogger, or any of these other Google Applications, before the new infrastructure."
- The good news is that this process allows you to rename the non-Eckerd.edu account and retain all the data in it. See the Conflicting accounts overview.

What this change will mean for you:
- Access to many more Google products. You'll soon be able to use all the Google services that your administrator allows you to access with your eckerd.edu account.
- New sign in option. You will be able to sign in to Google services from the regular sign-in pages (likehttp://mail.google.com). Your username is your full eckerd.edu email address.
- Data ownership. All data contained in eckerd.edu Google Apps accounts continues to be owned by your organization, and is subject to eckerd.edu's terms and conditions. Learn more
Prepare yourself:
- For more information, we encourage you to review the Transition Checklist. The Help Center also has answers to many common questions (note that you won't be able to view the full Help Center until you've been transitioned).
- If you have other questions, please contact your administrator.
