Applications
So what can you do with a SunRay?
Almost anything you can do on a regular PC, including accessing USB drives. Microsoft Office, Mozilla Firefox, the GIMP image editor, and Windows Media Player are installed on the terminal server.
What you won't be able to do
SunRays are not normal PCs, and do not run Windows. This means some things may be just a little different:
- You wont be able to install your own Windows applications
- 3D graphics (OpenGL or Microsoft DirectX) applications will run very slowly.
- You can't add your own printers or device drivers.
Some Nice Things to Know
Make sure you look around the Applications menu in the upper left corner of the screen. Some standard applications have slightly different names than you may be used to:
- Firefox is the standard web browser, but flash videos will play more quickly in Internet Explorer.
- To access a USB drive, Click the Start Button->Computer, then select the drive labeled "USB"
