Overview

CCL 2008Created by the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), this interactive program creates a foundation for understanding the challenges facing a new manager and for helping the individual improve leadership skills and behaviors at a formative stage in his or her career. Participants learn the essentials of effective leadership, focusing on personal awareness and growth, working relationships, influence skills and conflict resolution.  In a 2008 Financial Times survey, the Center earned an overall Top 10 ranking worldwide among providers of executive education for the fourth consecutive year.

Who Should Attend

Newly promoted managers in the early stages of their careers, as well as more experienced managers who would benefit from training that addresses the fundamentals of leadership development.

Outcomes

During the program, participants

  • Gain an understanding of their current leadership strengths and
  • development needs and how they affect the functioning of their groups
  • Learn how personality and interaction preferences help or impede the ability to
  • influence others and resolve conflict
  • Receive honest evaluations of their leadership styles and behaviors and come away with a tangible and practical development direction

Special Features

Participants receive the benefits of a comprehensive assessment process augmented with behavioral observation and confidential feedback from a coach.

Videotaped problem-solving exercises provide a realistic and safe way for managers in the earlier stages of their careers to learn how to handle potentially volatile or difficult situations that might occur in their workplace.

Participants examine how conflict may play out interpersonally and in work teams through a feedback tool that measures conflict behavior.

Integrated coaching is available to enhance the classroom experience and to support the individual’s ongoing development.
