Leadership Development Program®

"I sent three of my senior management team through the Leadership Development Program based on recommendations from companies who called the program 'life changing.' Because of overwhelmingly positive feedback, we already have plans to expand the training to more of our top tier executives."

Focus

Created by the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), this flagship leadership development experience has been in use for 30 years and is recognized around the world for excellence in leadership development. In a 2008 Financial Times survey, the Center earned an overall Top 10 ranking worldwide among providers of executive education for the fourth consecutive year.

Based on the most recent leadership research, our leadership development training uses a variety of in-depth self-awareness tools and activities to enhance leadership capabilities. Participants learn strategies for continuous development through extensive assessment, group discussions, self-reflection, small-group activities and personal coaching.  LDP alumni typically describe this leadership development training as the most transformational development experience they have ever had, both personally and professionally.  Over 6,000 leaders have participated in LDP at Eckerd College.

Who Should Attend

Mid- to senior-level managers who want to strengthen their leadership effectiveness through a feedback-intense learning experience.

Outcomes

During this program, participants

  • Give and receive feedback more effectively
  • Practice leading organizational change
  • Develop others
  • Manage self
  • Leverage differences in other people
  • Set clear, achievable goals

 Special Features

Each participant receives a confidential one-on-one session with a certified CCL feedback coach to review the results of the week and to begin setting clearly defined goals.

A carefully structured peer feedback session, in-depth, 360-degree feedback, and videotaped sessions help develop coaching and interpersonal skills.

Experiential and small-group activities throughout the week maximize learning and provide an opportunity to practice giving and receiving feedback.

Immediately following the program, a ten-week Web-based follow-up goal management system allows participants to further their learning objectives and discuss their progress with a CCL feedback coach and/or other LDP participants.

Three months after the program, participants complete a follow-up assessment to measure behavioral changes since attending LDP.
