Eckerd College Library subscribes to several e-book collections: NetLibrary, Oxford English Dictionary, Oxford Reference Online, Safari Tech Books Online, Who's Who, and World of Learning. All offer full-text online access of the entire print edition. These collections contain books meant to be used as reference resources; i.e., they are not meant to be read "cover to cover" but rather searched and/or browsed for specific information.


NetLibrary

netLibrary is a subscription service that provides a comprehensive collection of electronic books (eBooks) accessible from any location - day or night.

What are eBooks?

eBooks are full-text electronic versions of published books that Library patrons can search, browse or borrow, read, and return over the Internet

What are the benefits of netLibrary eBooks?

  • 24 hours a day, 7 days a week access to information your need.
  • The ability to search within a single book or across all the books in your Library in a matter of seconds.
  • An embedded dictionary in every eBook – double-click on a word to look up the definition – some words feature audio pronunciation
  • The ability to cut and paste text directly into your documents.
  • No more late fees or lost, stolen, or damaged books.

How do I create an account?

  1. Go to netLibrary
  2. Click on Create an account below the "log in" button on the right.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen (chose your own user name, and password).
  4. Select Submit button.

How do I log in?

  1. Go to netLibrary, enter your password (right side of screen)
  2. Select the red Log In button
  3. Keep in mind that this is a network-restricted resource. If you are off campus, you will need an active Eckerd email address in order to gain access. For more information, click here.

You now have access to all the eBooks subscribed to by your Library.

Full-text of the 100 language and subject dictionaries and reference works, containing well over 60,000 pages, into a single cross-searchable resource.
