Office of Marketing & Communications
Eckerd is a special place. And we want everyone to know about it!
An important part of the College's reputation-building strategy is to ensure that our messages and visuals shared with external audiences are consistent. Those audiences include: prospective students, the general public, alumni, donors and friends of the College, parents, policymakers, community partners and the media. Consistent messaging and design will reinforce Eckerd's differentiators and name recognition.
The new Office of Marketing and Communications will oversee all College communications, marketing and image-building activities, consulting with divisions and departments and providing guidance and direction. Through this site, we intend to provide our campus colleagues with tools and guidelines to ThinkOutside their proposals, emails, brochures, posters, Powerpoint presentations, flyers, postcards, advertisements, Web sites, e-newsletters and other e-communications. We've also developed protocols to ensure you know how to seek our support.
The Office of Marketing and Communications endeavors to support Eckerd's vision of being the finest student-centered, community-serving liberal arts and sciences institution in the Southeast. Our mission is to collaborate with Eckerd College departments to protect, manage and enhance the College's reputation, and distinguish Eckerd from other institutions of higher education by strengthening the brand image of the College and increasing brand awareness through various media. Marketing and Communications team members are:
- key strategists for communications about the College;
- primary points of contact for timely, accurate information about Eckerd; and
- leaders in advancing and positioning the College, identifying emerging issues and controlling crisis communications.
The Office communicates on behalf of the College and about its people, places and programs with a wide range of diverse constituencies including Trustees, alumni, donors, prospective students and parents, faculty, staff, current students and parents, news media, political and community leaders, and others. Our services include: consulting with both internal and external audiences on issues pertaining to College marketing and communications; creative direction and graphic design; Web design and content management as well as other forms of e-communication; and media and community relations.
