The Office of Marketing and Communications endeavors to provide helpful information to answer your questions and save you time. Below is a list of areas where we can be of assistance or point you in the right direction.
We can provide vendor recommendations and contact information for companies that offer services in design, printing, mailing, or specialty advertising (promotional items, i.e. t-shirts, giveaways, etc.).
A significant amount of the College's communication both internally and externally is correspondence on Eckerd College stationery. In producing letterhead, envelopes and business cards, our goal is to maintain the College's graphic identity and uphold our standards for quality.
The Eckerd College stationery items are ordered through your Office Manager, Administrative Assistant or Collegial Secretary. For consistency, Sir Speedy Printing and Marketing Services currently produces the College's stationery. They have existing templates for letterhead, envelopes, business cards, note pads, etc. Please contact Sir Speedy when placing orders for your department.

Variations on the College's official stationery or recreations of those designs by an outside design or printing firm without the approval of the Office of Marketing and Communications are not permitted.
Electronic letterhead is available for your e-communication needs. If you would like an electronic letterhead created for your department, please contact Creative Director Dawn Ellenburg. If your department uses an internal form which requires the Eckerd College logo, please see the Resources section on this web site to download the appropriate logo.
On occasion there is an opportunity for a department to sponsor a table at a local event or place an ad in an event program. Please contact the Office of Marketing and Communications to discuss ad specifications and deadlines for materials.
The Eckerd College Mailroom provides the majority of the postal services to the College community. They handle all the incoming mail and process all the College's outgoing business mail.
If your office is planning a large mailing that requires the use of an outside mail service for processing and ink jetting, we can make recommendations.
Business Reply Mail is a U.S. Postal Service (USPS) tool that allows businesses to provide customers with pre-printed postage-paid envelopes or postcards and pay postage only for those mail pieces that are actually returned. Some departments on campus use this service.
USPS requires specific formats for Business Reply Mail. Incorrectly prepared mail can be rejected by the USPS.
The requirements for Business Reply Mail frequently change. If your office is planning a mailing that has a Business Reply component, please contact Creative Director Dawn Ellenburg.
An indicia is a printed designation on a mail piece (in lieu of actual postage) to pay for the postage under a specific permit number. The common indicia must include the class of mail, the permit number being used, the city and state the permit was issued in, and the phrase "U.S. POSTAGE PAID". If you have additional questions about the College's indicia or if you would like one created for your mailing, please contact Creative Director Dawn Ellenburg.
