2075   Wealth Creation: Understanding Financial Instruments
Instructor: Hal Hultman
Mondays and Wednesdays, October 13, 15, 20, 22, 27 and 29
9:30 am - Noon

With the demise of defined benefit retirement programs, the responsibility for management, creation, and preservation of personal wealth, both before and after retirement, has been shifted from business and government organizations to each
individual. One of the primary means of wealth creation is through financial instruments, and an understanding of the nature of these instruments and their behavior in the global economic environment is an essential prerequisite to the creation of successful investing strategies. In these sessions participants will expand their knowledge of the underlying principles of economics and their impact on the creation of personal wealth; explore financial institutions and the nature of money; understand valuation principles for stocks, bonds, and mutual funds; explore portfolio creation criteria and the management of risk; define securities and security exchanges; and interpret financial news and reports. By exploring these topics, seminar
participants will be better prepared to discuss personal investment strategies and long-term financial planning.
