Did you know that dancing is one of the best exercises for your body - and for brain health? It's also a way to stay active and meet people. Don't have a dance partner? No problem. Let's line dance!
A line dance is a choreographed dance with a repeated sequence of steps in which a group of people dance in one or more lines all facing the same direction, and execute the steps at the same time. These dancers are not in physical contact with each other. Though line dancing emerged from country/western music, it continues to evolve, absorbing modern trends, urban sophistication, swing syncopations, flowing waltz, and Latin flavor, all danced in lines. Do your body, your brain and your sense of fun a favor and join us for this very enjoyable activity.

If you have heard how wonderful yoga is but always thought it was too difficult, now is your time to experience the benefits for yourself. Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting in a chair, or using a chair for support while standing. It incorporates all of the benefits of yoga: a healthier, stronger, and more flexible body; a great sense of calm and well-being; and increased oxygen intake.
Chair yoga has helped people with the symptoms of many health issues, including high blood pressure, anxiety, arthritis, depression, and chronic pain. With the aid of a chair, you will learn many kinds of yoga postures, breathing techniques, meditation, and ways of relaxation. No getting down on the floor, no complicated movements - just increased flexibility, mobility, and relaxation.

Would you like to have more energy to accomplish your goals on a daily basis? Want to feel more alert?
We will learn the following:
- the latest research about brain health and how it translates into things we can do everyday to increase our physical and mental health
- how our brains process emotions and how we can increase positive attitudes and self-confidence
- how to minimize age-related memory loss
- how to be proactive with strategies for preserving and even improving our memory
We will learn how to do all this with simple natural movements that you can do in 5 minutes a day - sitting, standing or lying down. We will learn why these movements work by finding out what is going on inside our brains when we do them. If you took Mental Fitness in the past, come back for a refresher and find out about the newest brain research. We'll laugh a lot, move a lot (at your own level), learn how to decrease our stress and have great fun while we learn how to keep our brains and our bodies healthy and strong.
