Credit Through Examination Programs

CLEP and DSST exams allow you to test out of up to 6 courses and receive up to 21 hours of credit, saving you time and money.

You may demonstrate proficiency in certain subject areas by examination through the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) or DSST. The CLEP general studies tests are not accepted for credit except as part of an A.A. degree accepted for transfer. Course credit for CLEP and DSST exams is limited to three course equivalents for each examination program. For details on how these tests are accepted at Eckerd, download the PDFs below.

Registration information is available in the St. Petersburg PEL office. You may arrange to take CLEP and DSST tests at Eckerd College by calling the PEL office at 727-864-8226 or 800-234-4735. Please contact your advisor prior to registering for any CLEP or DSST examination to be sure the test you plan to take fits into your degree plan.
