Experiential Learning Credit

Course credit may be awarded through the evaluation of college-level learning gained outside the classroom. You will work with an advisor to determine if Experiential Learning Credit can be integrated into your degree plan.

Experiential Credit Through External Evaluation
Experiential credit through external evaluation includes knowledge gained through a course of study which has been rated for college credit by such organizations as the American Council on Education or the United States Military. In addition, learning acquired in fields such as nursing, securities, or real estate may be considered for credit.

Experiential Credit Through Portfolio Evaluation
Many areas of experience outside the classroom provide learning environments in which you might have gained knowledge of concepts, theories and applications traditionally taught in liberal arts colleges. Examples of this type of learning are social services or management-related experiences that can be described and documented to satisfy the requirements in certain disciplines. During orientation you will attend a workshop on how to compile a portfolio which represents your experiential learning.
