Prevention & Educational Programs
The college is committed to the prevention of sexual assault, and as such the college provides educational programs and information which promote the awareness of all forms of sexual assault, with special emphasis on date and acquaintance rape.
Educational programs may be requested through the Eckerd College Peer Education Speakers Bureau. Programs are available for women only, for men only, and for women and men together. Educational programs also explore the links between alcohol and sexual assault. In light of the statistically significant risk of sexual assault during the first year of college, educational and informational programming is emphasized during autumn term orientation. Eckerd College also sponsors periodic self-defense workshops in conjunction with sexual assault prevention programming.
