On Saturday, September 16th, twelve members of the Eckerd College community travelled south to the town of Palmetto to help Habitat for Humanity of Manatee County with the construction of new homes. The Eckerd volunteers worked on two different houses, nailing shingles on one and framing and raising walls on the other. It was a hot a sweaty morning of hard work, but fun was had by all and we were able to get a lot of work done together. Click here to see photos from the construction site.
