Community Plunge: 2006
Community Plunge, like Into the Streets, is a chance for Eckerd Students to volunteer for a half-day of service. This year, some of the EC Service Clubs such as Amnesty International, EC Homeless Outreach, EC Circle K, Best Buddies, Earth Society, and EC Pride have chosen sites to introduce students to the service work and organizations they are involved with on a regular basis. This year sites included the Beacon House (a homeless shelter), PARC (an non-profit that works with the developmental disabled), Boyd Hill Nature Trail, and Creative Clay (a non-profit art studio that is open to ALL members of St. Pete). Even though Community Plunge started early students still were able to get out of bed, get involved in their St. Pete community, and have fun!
