For Alternative Spring Break 2011, Michelle Howell led 11 Eckerd students to Puerto Rico to participate in some environmental service. They stayed just outside of Ponce, Puerto Rico at Hacienda Verde, an ecological preserve in the mountains. After 8 days helping out on the preserve doing plantings, clean-ups, and many other tasks, they did a total of 25 hours per person. The group made a valuable contribution to a great organization!
