Jamaica: Spring Break 09

On March 15, twelve students and one faculty leader departed Orlando, Fl for Montego Bay, Jamaica. The group of thirteen Eckerd College representatives arrived in Kingston, Jamaica to complete a week's worth of service with the Mustard Seed Organization. The Mustard Seed Organization is a group that assists individuals who are suffering from HIV/AIDS and mental and physical handicaps. The work that the group completed ranged from painting houses and buildings to gardening to repairing wheelchairs. However, most of the days were punctuated with visits from the residents, children and adults, who resided in the various facilities of the organization. Commuting daily from their mountain-top hostel, the group completed five days of service. The trip culminated with a trip to Dunn's River Falls and then two nights in Montego Bay.
