A Quick Glimpse of Robert Redford at Sundance Channel HQ
I saw Robert Redford! Okay, sorry, I had to get that out. Now, on to the story:
On Friday, a bunch of us (Hannah, Travis, David, Lizzie, and I) decided to go explore Main Street and see what was going on. We did some shopping, went to a pretty good sushi place for lunch, and checked out the Slamdance headquarters at the top of the hill. The Slamdance people were way more chilled out and friendly than anyone we encountered working at Sundance. We got tickets to see a Slamdance documentary called Superheroes and bought some really cool posters from the guy that designed the Slamdance posters. You can check them out online, the company is called La La Land Posters. We had heard that there had been a celebrity or two seen at the Sundance Channel headquarters, so we figured we’d check it out.
Unfortunately, when we got there we were told that only people 21 and up can go inside because they have an open bar and I was the only person in our group that was old enough. We almost just turned away to go do something else because I didn’t want to leave everyone and go in by myself, but at the last minute I decided to go inside for just a second to check it out while everyone else went to a store across the street. As it turns out it was extremely lucky that I decided to go in after all. When I walked in I noticed that there was a large-ish crowd of people at the back of the room. And a crowd like that here usually means there’s someone famous at the center of it. As I got closer, I realized that the people were crowded around none other than Robert Redford himself, founder of the Sundance Film Festival. He was greeting people in the lounge before heading into the Sundance Channel studio to film an interview. Luckily the crowd wasn’t too huge so I could get close enough to get a video of Redford as he walked past me into the studio.
Robert Redford walked right by me! I mean, he was only 5 or maybe 10 feet away from me…so cool! Anyways, check out the video below:
