The Blair Witch Project is the aftermath of three young filmmakers who disappeared in the woods of Burkittesville, Maryland. Heather the director, Josh the cameraman, and Mike the sound guy went to the town of Burkittesville to create a documentary on the Blair Witch. After interviewing the townsfolk and leaving their car on the skirts of the woods they went hiking in search of evidence of the Blair Witch. The three soon find mysterious things in the woods not naturally explained and at night they start hearing strange noises coming from the forest. When they had gotten the footage desired they started to head back to the car and found themselves lost. The trio began to panic and freak out when they loose their map and start walking in circles as well as the night sounds getting more aggressive. The three were never seen again. (more…)

The Blair Witch Project

I’m probably one of the biggest chickens to bring with you to see a scary movie. Especially one about wooded areas and being lost in a forest, because this is the scenery surrounding my childhood home. I scream, I hide, I squeeze the heck out of anything I can grab, and I am petrified to leave my seat after the film. The Blair Witch Project happens to be one of those such movies which I’m terrible at watching, so this experience was quite thrilling one for me.

As a horror film, it did an excellent job showing reduced blood and guts, and using only character’s breathing patterns and noises. The Blair Witch Project used several good tactics of its bag of tricks. (more…)
