The Eckerd College Department of Athletics, led by Director Dr. Bob Fortosis, gathered all of the Eckerd College Student-Athletes for one final time in the 2006-07 school year to honor and thank them for a great year of competition.

Shaking off early nerves Eckerd College men’s golfer C.J. Denmark managed a respectable 21st place finish in the NCAA South Region Tournament hosted by the University of North Alabama at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Muscle Shoals, Alabama the weekend of May 7-9.

The Eckerd College baseball team, behind the arm of senior Joe Sinicola, shut down the visiting Florida Tech Panthers en route to a dominating 5-1 win on Monday evening at Turley Field. The win in EC's final game of the season improves the Tritons to 19-28 overall and gives them a final Sunshine State Conference record of 5-19. The Panthers fall to 30-21 overall and 12-12 in conference play.

On a day when Head Coach Bill Mathews honored his nine departing seniors, playing in their final series in a Tritons uniform, the Eckerd College baseball team came out and split with visiting Sunshine State Conference opponent Florida Tech, winning the opener 7-4 but falling in the nightcap 6-1 in an unusual Sunday afternoon double-dip at Turley Field.

The Eckerd College men's golf team found out on Friday evening that their 2007 season was not entirely complete as freshman C.J. Denmark earned a berth as an individual competitor in the NCAA South/South Central Super Regional hosted by the University of North Alabama at the Robert Trent Jones Trail at the Shoals Golf Course in Florence, Alabama.

The second day of the Sunshine State Conference baseball series between the visiting Nova Southeastern University Sharks and the Eckerd College Tritons left Tritons fans with the same sad feeling after they left Turley Field last night. EC was swept by the visitors, losing the opener 15-2 and the nightcap 9-5 to fall to 17-27 overall and 3-18 in the SSC.
