Damone Morris

HIGH SCHOOL: Played three seasons of varsity basketball for the Thunder...was named to the Class 5A All-Area First Team and All-State Second Team during his senior year...was also named Lake Region High School’s Most Valuable Player...posted career-highs of 25 points, 13 assists, seven rebounds and nine steals as a senior...was named to the Lake Region High School honor roll all four years.  A 2004 graduate he played for Coach Scott Williams at Lake Region High School in Winter Haven, Florida ... was named MVP of his team and recipient of the Coaches Award.

PERSONAL:  Son of Norman Herbert and Aleatha Morris ... born May 1st ... majoring in business management ... has one sibling, Leandrew … also has a long lineage of professional athletes in his family that include second cousin Tracy McGrady, third cousin Vince Carter and college football player Alex Boston… a fan of Michael Jordan, Damone enjoys fishing and playing cards or video games … he feels his ability to score and leadership on the court make him a good competitor … when he graduates from Eckerd he wants to continue his basketball career and own a small business… he chose Eckerd because of his relationship with Coach Tom Ryan and that is was close to home.
