Men's Soccer Dominates in Opening Game

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd College men's soccer team got their 2007 season jump started as they dominated visiting Florida College 7-0 on goals scored by seven different Tritons on the way to posting their first victory of the season.
For the Tritons the first goal came before fans could even get comfortable as junior Greg Cavallini punched it past the Falcon keeper exactly two minutes into the contest.

Men's Soccer Picked to Finish in Ninth Place in SSC Preseason Voting

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Eckerd College men's soccer team has been picked to finish in ninth place in the Sunshine State Conference when the preseason polls were released by the conference office earlier today. This preseason vote puts the Tritons two spots lower than the seventh place finish of 2006, all this while only losing two starters to graduation.
Lynn University, whom the Tritons defeated last year, has been chosen as the preseason favorite to capture the Sunshine State Conference men's soccer championship, Commissioner Michael J. Marcil announced.

Men's Soccer Releases 2007 Schedule

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Head Coach Jeremy Wisdo's squad looks to the new season with a more balanced schedule filled with more opponents than in 2006. This year’s schedule is void of the 8 to 10 day layoffs the Tritons had to deal with twice last year.
The advantage to this year’s active schedule is the Tritons will be able to be on the field more, preventing the "rust" from a long hiatus, but the disadvantage, with only one seven day break, will be the ability of the Tritons out on the pitch to quickly recover from the hard competition during the season, especially in the very physical Sunshine State Conference.
