Erin Koenig enters her fourth season as leader of the Eckerd College Tennis program. Koenig joined the Tritons’ staff following a decorated career at Oklahoma State University.
Prior to Eckerd, Koenig held a two-year stint at the Bollettieri Tennis School in the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. She served as an assistant coach, an ITF traveling coach, and a technique specialist during her time at Bollettieri.
In January 2007, Koenig took charge of two teams that have begun rebuilding after returning only two players from the 2006 squads that finished in the regional round of the NCAA Tournament and Top-10 in the NCAA.
Koenig's first-ever win at the helm of the Eckerd College men's tennis team came in the most thrilling of fashions as the Tritons used a 12-10 tiebreaker win at No. 6 singles to upend the visiting University of West Alabama 5-4 in March 2008. Under the leadership of Koenig, the team would rally to pick up their first Sunshine State Conference win against Saint Leo the following week.
A native of Edmond, Oklahoma, Koenig has significant knowledge when it comes to the hard courts. After graduating from Santa Fe High School in her hometown she went on to Stillwater where she was a member of the Oklahoma State University women's tennis team from 1999-2003.
While playing for the Cowgirls, Koenig (formerly Pauchnik) was a member of the 2001 and 2003 Big XII Championship winning teams and she also participated in the NCAA Tournament from 2000-2003. Koenig finished the 2003 season with an 11-0 overall record in doubles play with teammate Ewa Radzikowska. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Oklahoma State in 2004. Koenig resides in Parrish, Fla. with her husband Doug, and the family's dog, Cowboy.
